Friday 1 May sees the Harley-Davidson Custom Motorcycle Show roll into Senigallia, Italy, for the Harley-Davidson Spring Rally, sponsored once again by Metzeler.

Metzeler only produces tyres for motorcycles – they’re experts at what they do and will give away three sets of tyres as part of the prizes on offer at this year’s event in Piazza Garibaldi. You can visit Metzeler throughout the rally at Parcheggio Foro, next to H-D Service.

All entrants will also receive free gifts courtesy of Harley-Davidson and Metzeler.

The Custom Motorcycle Show is free and open to entries of all Harley-Davidson^® motorcycles and custom derivatives. We try to keep things simple – you don’t have to pre-register, just turn up, sign up, pick up your free gifts and you’re in.

Times and location

Registration is from 10.30am to 1.30pm
Judging starts from 2pm
Awards-giving will start from 4pm

Location: in front of the main stage at Piazza Garibaldi, enter via the one way system using Via Testaferrata, turning right from Via Portici Ercolani.

Even if you are not planning to enter a motorcycle, be sure to come along and vote for your favourite in the People’s Choice Awards. 

Motorcycle categories

There are six categories, reflecting the evolving styles of motorcycle and customisation and acknowledging that some bikes may fit into more than one. When you enter, you can discuss with our entry judge which would be the best fit for your build. However, the judge’s choice is final on this matter.

It’s not a concours event so we’re not scrutinising every nut and bolt and gasket; judging is mainly based on aesthetic and how it fits a category theme, rather than precision.

The categories for this year are:

Tourer and Bagger: two- and three-wheeled bagger- and touring-oriented H-D^® models, with identifiable original engine cases. All other modifications allowed.

Cruiser: Harley-Davidson cruiser and roadster-oriented custom bikes. Evo and later H-D models with original frame number and engine cases; all other modifications allowed.

Sport and Clubstyle: custom performance-oriented H-D models and Clubstyle H-D-based custom bikes. Original H-D frame and engine cases required; all other modifications allowed.

Adventure and Off-road: Pan America^® or any adventure-oriented or off-road H-D motorcycle, or off-road motorcycle brands associated with or previously owned by H-D, with original frame number and engine cases.

Antique and RestoMod: for antique, original or restored Pre-Evo Harley^® models (Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead, Ironhead Sportster^® etc) with original frame number and engine cases; for RestoMod, all models inspired by and with a significant Pre-Evo H-D component (e.g. engine or frame) but with contemporary custom modifications. Note: separate awards for ‘Antique’ and ‘RestoMod’ may be made at the discretion of the judges.

Radical Custom: anything goes – so long as customisation is extreme, and to a professional or very high amateur standard. Harley-Davidson must be the basis of, or the inspiration for, the build. Custom fabricated and modified components welcome. Motorcycles heavily representing or promoting non-Harley-Davidson brands, or with a high proportion of components from other motorcycle manufacturers, are not eligible for entry in this category.

Each category will have a winner and a runner-up, with Best in Show, People’s Choice and Metzeler Judges’ Choice awards complemented by Best Paintwork and Best Detailing awards, should the judges decide there are worthy entries too.

Please note: all motorcycles are entered into this show at the judges’ discretion and in the categories assigned. Motorcycles that do not meet the requirements may be politely refused entry. It is not a concours show and no other categories will be considered. Judges’ decisions are final. See release of liability on entry for additional conditions of entry and use.
