Visit the Red Bull Ring
Take a scenic journey through Carinthia and Styria into the heart of motorsport in Spielberg
Have you always wanted to dive deeper into the world of motorsport and see the Red Bull Ring up close? This is your chance! The ride is between 1hr 45 and 2hr 45 from Faak am See – not including stops – and you’ll also get a free tour, see below for tour times.
Starting at lake Faaker See, your journey begins on relaxing federal highways, heading west past Villach. Enjoy stunning views of Ossiacher See as you make your way toward Feldkirchen.
From there, you’ll take the Turracher Straße north, winding through the idyllic rolling hills of Carinthia. Soon, the Turracher Höhe, a mountain pass marking the border between Carinthia and Styria, will rise before you. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, with numerous restaurants offering refreshments and a picturesque view of Lake Turrach.
After recharging, continue north toward Predlitz, St. Georgen ob Murau and Murau. Murau makes for another excellent pit stop, where you can stroll through the historic town centre or along the Mur River. From there, pass through Scheifling, Pöls and Fohnsdorf to arrive at the Red Bull Ring. Parking is available directly in front of the Welcome Center (main building).
From there, you will continue to the Welcome Center and the Red Bull Ring Info Desk. Here, you can enjoy a refreshment and also have the opportunity to sign up for a guided Red Bull Ring tour (free of charge for European Bike Week® visitors, no advance registration required, but capacity is limited, and spots are allocated on a first come, first served basis). The tour is offered at the following times:
- Friday, September 5th, 13:00 – 14:00
- Saturday, September 6th, 13:00 – 14:00
- Sunday, September 7th, 13:00 – 14:00
Before your trip leads you back to Faak, you will have the chance to grab a bite to eat at the Wing Café or in Bull’s Lane.
You want to extend your stay in the area? Treat yourself to a culinary experience at Wasserturm or the rustic Hofwirt. For ultimate relaxation, enjoy some downtime at the AQUALUX spa in Fohnsdorf.
